Europe supplying arms to Ukraine at bidding of US — Belarusian president
According to Alexander Lukashenko, pursuing an "independent foreign policy is a luxury in the contemporary world,"
MINSK, March 31. /TASS/. Europe did not want to supply weapons to Ukraine but is doing so on orders from Washington, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday.
"Did [the Europeans] want to supply Leopards (tanks - TASS) [to Ukraine]? No! Yet they all are bringing [them] there. As soon as the ‘all-powerful Washington bosses’ gave the order, they began supplying [them], what disciplined obedience," he said, addressing the Belarusian nation and parliament.
According to Lukashenko, pursuing an "independent foreign policy is a luxury in the contemporary world," which "not all nations and countries can afford." "The more so nowadays, when we’re seeing the most far-reaching global standoff since the end of the Second World War," the Belarusian president noted.
He added that, currently, he was not seeing an appropriate level of political will among European leaders.
"The European Union’s policy, not only its foreign policy but also its domestic one, is completely subjugated to US interests," the Belarusian leader stressed.
