Sweden bars Russia from 2023 World Military Skiing Championship

MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Russian skiers and biathlon athletes have been barred from participating in the upcoming 2023 World Military Skiing Championship in Sweden later this month, Ulrik Hansson-Mild, a spokesman for the organizing committee told TASS on Tuesday.
"The invitations to CISM [International Military Sports Council] competitions are posted on CISM website, and thus open for all member states to take part of and consider," he said in a statement to TASS.
"However, due to the current security situation and the Russian aggression in Ukraine, Sweden will not host competitors from Russia during this competition," Hansson-Mild stated.
"In short - the invitation is valid through CISM, but applicants from Russia will during the current situation not be able to compete in Sweden," the spokesman for the organizing part added.
The 2023 World Military Skiing Championship is scheduled to be held in Boden between March 27 and 31.
