BEIJING, March 10. /TASS/. Zhao Leji, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, was elected chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC, permanent parliament body) in Friday voting at the first session of the 14th NPC, the Xinhua news agency reported.
All 2,952 parliament members participating voted for Zhao Leji, 66, who took over from Li Zhanshu, 72, holding the position since March 2018.
