The draft reform was passed during the third plenary meeting of the first session of the 14th National People's Congress
BEIJING, March 10. /TASS/. Delegates of the first session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC, parliament) approved the draft of reform of the country’s supreme government organ, the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, on Friday, China’s Central Television reported.
The draft reform was passed during the third plenary meeting of the first session of the 14th National People's Congress.
The draft reform’s text has not been published yet. It is expected to be aligned with the draft reform of the country’s party and government agencies approved at the second plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China that took place in late February. As the final communique of the plenary session said the reform suggests tightened centralized control of the Communist Party of China and improved efficiency of government staff.
The latest major reform of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, which annulled or set up as many as several ministries and agencies, was held in 2018.
