Grossi confirms Iran’s willingness to reinstall monitoring equipment at nuclear facilities
When asked by reporters, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency replied "Yes"
VIENNA, March 4. /TASS/. Iran is prepared to have cameras and other monitoring equipment reinstalled at nuclear facilities, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said at a press conference in Vienna on Saturday.
When asked by reporters, Grossi replied "Yes.".
The IAEA chief said that there would be "50% more inspections" at the Fordow nuclear site where uranium particles enriched to up to 83.7% purity were found. Grossi added that a great deal of issues had been agreed during his trip to Tehran, including access to "information and places," "people of interest" as well as "concrete access to things."
"I believe that a marked improvement in terms of my dialogue with the Iranian government has been registered," he said adding that Iran and its Atomic Energy Organization still have work ahead.
Earlier on Saturday, Grossi held talks with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. At the meeting with Raisi, the IAEA director general expressed satisfaction with achieving joint measures, which should, in his words, smooth the path of cooperation between Iran and the IAEA. During his visit to Tehran, Grossi held two rounds of talks with Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, and a meeting with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
