Iran willing to cooperate with IAEA - Reuters

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi welcomed Iran’s assurances

VIENNA, March 4. /TASS/. Iran has given high-level assurances to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it is willing to cooperate to resolve the outstanding safeguards issues and to engage in follow-up technical discussions, Reuters reported on Saturday citing the IAEA report.

It was said that IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi welcomed Iran’s assurances. Tehran and the IAEA have started technical discussions to clarify the origin of uranium particles enriched to up to 83.7% purity at the Fordow nuclear facility.

Earlier on Saturday, Grossi held talks with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. At the meeting with Raisi, the IAEA director general expressed satisfaction with achieving joint measures, which should, in his words, "smooth the path of cooperation" between Iran and the IAEA.

Grossi arrived in Tehran on Friday and has held two rounds of talks with Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, and had a meeting with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. The IAEA chief pointed out that they had a constructive discussion and the atmosphere at the talks was positive. He added that during his current working visit to Tehran, he noticed Iran was willing to cooperate.
