US Department of Commerce blacklists 76 organizations from Russia
Additions requirements for export, re-export and transfer deals have been imposed on these companies
WASHINGTON, February 24. /TASS/. The US Department of Commerce has imposed export restrictions on 76 Russian enterprises.
According to the corresponding document released on Friday, the blacklist includes the Skolkovo Fund, the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.
The blacklist includes defense sector enterprises, high-technology companies and institutes working in the sphere of high technologies.
Additions requirements for export, re-export and transfer deals have been imposed on these companies.
New sanctions against Russia, Belarus
US also expanded sanctions against Russia and Belarus.
"The Department of Commerce is expanding and strengthening the existing sanctions against Russia and Belarus, including the scope of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)’s Russian and Belarusian industry sector sanctions and ‘luxury goods’ sanctions," the statement reads.
"This rule also refines existing export controls on Russia and Belarus. The Department of Commerce is taking these actions to enhance the effectiveness of its controls on both countries and to better align them with those implemented by US allies and partners," the department added.
The restrictions will particularly apply to goods used in the metal and aircraft industry, the construction sector, as well as electronics and the nuclear industry.
In addition, sanctions will also affect the oil and gas industry of Russia and Belarus, including export and re-export, which directly or indirectly concerns exploration or production from deepwater, Arctic offshore, or shale projects.
In addition, the department also expanded its "luxury goods" sanctions.
