At least six people injured in Syria’s Aleppo after earthquakes in Turkey — agency

According to chief of Aleppo’s health department Ziyad al-Haj Taha, these people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries

CAIRO, February 20. /TASS/. At least six people were injured in Syria’s Aleppo located in the north of the country as a result of two strong earthquakes that rocked southeastern Turkey on Monday, the SANA news agency reported.

According to chief of Aleppo’s health department Ziyad al-Haj Taha, these people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The Al Jazeera television channel reported earlier that several buildings collapsed in Aleppo after the quakes in Turkey.

Turkey’s Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) said earlier that magnitude 6.4 and 5.8 earthquakes rocked southeastern Turkey with an interval of 17 minutes. According to the Habertürk  television channel, damage was reported in the city of Defne in the Hatay province. Tremors were felt in Egypt, Israel, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Syria.
