Belarus is ready to start producing attack aircraft with some Russian support — Lukashenko
The Belarusian president noted the positive results of the implementation of import-substitution projects in the field of aircraft construction
NOVO-OGARYOVO, February 17. /TASS/. Belarus is ready to start producing attack aircraft with a little technological support from Russia, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
"I was told by the cabinet we are ready to start production of aircraft that has proved itself well in Ukraine: the attack aircraft, a workhorse. We are ready for production in Belarus with a little technological support from the Russian Federation," he said.
The Belarusian president noted the positive results of the implementation of import-substitution projects in the field of aircraft construction.
"You once raised the issue of cooperation in the field of aircraft construction. So I have to report to you that the Belarusians are making up to 1,000 components for the MS-21 and Sukhoi Superjet," Lukashenko said.
He also highly appreciated the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the field of security and defense, noting the 100% implementation of the relevant agreements by Minsk.
"Everything that we agreed on recently, about three months ago, in terms of defense and security, was 100% fulfilled by the Belarusian side last year. One hundred percent and even more has been done," Lukashenko said. "Later I will tell you what is being done in this regard.".
