Europeans to be hardest hit by Polish decision to close key border crossing, Belarus warns

According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the country’s "carriers will not be able to cross the border due to decisions made by the Polish side earlier"

MINSK, February 10. /TASS/. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry slammed Warsaw’s "anti-human" move to shutter the Bobrowniki border crossing, warning that European companies and citizens would be affected the most.

"You should understand that this step is basically anti-human. The Polish leadership has deliberately caused inhuman conditions for ordinary people and transport operators, harming both major economic operators and small businesses. European companies and citizens, mostly Polish ones, will be hit the hardest," Belarus’s diplomatic agency told Charge d'Affaires of Poland in the Republic of Belarus Martin Wojciechowski, according to its press release.

According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the country’s "carriers will not be able to cross the border due to decisions made by the Polish side earlier."

On Thursday, Poland notified Belarus that it would close the Borowniki border crossing from 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski explained that the decision was made taking into account "vital national security interests." There are six checkpoints on the border between Poland and Belarus, of which Warsaw has closed three.
