Russian troops providing round-the-clock aid to earthquake victims in Aleppo — top brass

ALEPPO, February 8. /TASS/. Russian servicemen are providing round-the-clock humanitarian assistance to people in the Syrian province of Aleppo affected by powerful earthquakes on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.
"Servicemen of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria provide humanitarian aid to residents of the province of Aleppo affected by the quake," Russia’s top brass said in a statement. According to the ministry’s data, food and essentials, including bedding items, are given out at humanitarian aid distribution points.
"Russian troops will continue work to deliver humanitarian assistance to affected people," the top brass concluded.
A powerful 7.7-magnitude rocked Turkey’s Kahramanmaras province on Monday night. Aftershocks were felt in 10 provinces, as well as in neighboring countries, such as Syria, where major damage was also reported.
According to the latest information, more than 5,800 people were killed and over 34,000 people were injured in Turkey. The death toll in Syria is over 1,500, with more than 3,500 persons injured, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies reported, while Syria’s Health Ministry said there were 1,250 deaths and 2,054 wounded people.
