Israel believes strike on Iran achieved its goals — newspaper
The attack was carried out by the Israeli foreign intelligence service Mossad, according to The Wall Street Journal
NEW YORK, January 31. /TASS/. Israel believes that Sunday night's strike on Iran has achieved its goals, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the details of the operation.
According to the newspaper's sources, the attack was carried out by Israel's Mossad foreign intelligence service. The target was an Israeli Defense Ministry facility in Isfahan where unnamed weapons were allegedly being manufactured.
The IRNA news agency reported on Sunday night that a powerful explosion rocked the city of Isfahan in central Iran. Later, the Iranian Defense Ministry said that a drone attack had been attempted on one of its centers on Saturday. One drone was downed and the other two hit defensive traps and exploded. No one was hurt and minor damage was incurred. However, Tehran did not say who it thought was responsible for the attack.
Israel did not claim any involvement in the Isfahan explosions.
