Russia reports lowest daily fatalities tally since August 1 — crisis center

As many as 380 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down from 495 a day earlier

MOSCOW, January 30./TASS/. Thirty-eight coronavirus patients died over the past day across Russia, bringing the number of daily fatalities under 40 for the first time since August 1, 2022, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Monday

Forty coronavirus patients died a day earlier, while the overall figure of coronavirus fatalities now stands at 395,022, it said.

Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 5,979 over the past day versus 6,941 a day earlier, bringing the total since the pandemic began to 21,944,400, it added.

As many as 380 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down from 495 a day earlier (23.2-percent decline). The number of hospitalized patients grew in 16 regions and declined in 45, while in 24 regions the figure remained the same.

Meanwhile, Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 3,861 over the past day against 3,612 a day earlier, reaching 21,343,177 overall, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases grew by 1,519 against 1,967 a day earlier, reaching 3,345,379, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. Twelve coronavirus patients died and 1,376 recovered in the past day, it said.

St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 736 over the past day against 728 a day earlier, totaling 1,844,356. Seven coronavirus patients died in Russia’s second biggest city in the past 24 hours, and 554 patients have recovered.
