TEHRAN, January 27. /TASS/. Iranian law enforcement officers have detained a man who attacked the Azerbaijani embassy in the country’s capital of Tehran on Friday, the Tasnim news agency reported, citing the capital’s police chief.

"A man walked into the Azerbaijani embassy this morning and opened gunfire, killing one person and leaving another two wounded," the official said. "The attacker was immediately apprehended and an investigation is underway," he added.

According to the agency, the perpetrator came to the embassy accompanied by his two children. When interrogated, he cited personal and family problems as his motive.

Earlier on Friday, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry reported an armed attack on the country’s embassy in Tehran, which killed the chief of the embassy’s security service and wounded two security officers.
