BAKU, January 27. /TASS/. An armed attack on Azerbaijan's Embassy in Tehran was committed with the head of security killed and his two colleagues wounded, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.
"On January 27, at 08:30 Baku time (07:30 Moscow time - TASS) an armed attack was committed on the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The attacker, armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, having stormed through the security checkpoint, killed the head of the security service. Two security staff members were wounded while deflecting the attack. Their condition is described as satisfactory," its statement said.
According to the diplomatic agency, an investigation into the attack is currently underway. "The public will receive additional information on details," it stressed.
