MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. An explosive device hidden in an envelope was mailed on Thursday morning to the Spanish Defense Ministry, El Mundo reported.

According to the newspaper, the letter was sent from Spain.

Earlier, the paper said that a package containing explosives had been found at the Torrejon de Ardoz airbase on Thursday morning. On Wednesday, the Instalaza weapons firm received a letter like the one that exploded in the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid earlier that day.

An explosion rocked the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid at about 1:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. Moscow time) on Wednesday. A package mailed to the ambassador with a homemade bomb inside it was opened by an embassy employee. The explosion caused a minor wound to his right hand and he sought medical assistance at a Madrid clinic himself.
