NATO countries agree on unacceptance of confrontation with Russia — Hungarian top diplomat
It is stated that there is a concensus on the issue that escalation of this war should be avoided at any cost
BUDAPEST, November 29. /TASS/. NATO countries agree on the fact that the bloc should not be a part of the Ukrainian conflict and be drawn into a military confrontation with Russia, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said after a NATO Foreign Ministers meeting in Bucharest on Tuesday.
"We should keep in force the joint decisions NATO has earlier taken, which are that, on the one hand, we are not party to the conflict [in Ukraine], and on the other hand, we must do everything possible to not be drawn into a direct conflict with Russia. As it has become apparent at the meeting, there is a concensus on the issue that escalation of this war should be avoided at any cost, that is, that there should be no direct confrontation between NATO and Russia," Szijjarto said at a press conference broadcast by the Hungarian M1 channel.
