YEREVAN, November 23. /TASS/. The risks of terrorism as well as arms and drug trafficking spilling over into member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) from Afghanistan persist, and the Moscow-led alliance still views moves to beef up security on the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border to be pertinent, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said on Wednesday.

"The risks of terrorist activity, illicit weapons trade and drug trafficking spilling over into the CSTO persist. Enhancing security on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan is still relevant," he assured CSTO foreign and defense ministers and Security Council chiefs at a joint meeting.

"Concluding work on strengthening the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan under an interstate commodities program remains vital," he added.
