ANKARA, November 13. /TASS/. Turkey’s Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said on Sunday that the country’s authorities have not yet established which terrorist organization is responsible for the terror attack in Istanbul.

"The blast occurred shortly after a woman got off a bench after sitting there for some 40-45 minutes. All data about this woman are now being analyzed. Her name is not known yet, but she is a suspect. It was a terror attack. The investigation will reveal which terrorist organization was behind it," he told the NTV television channel.

According to another theory, there was an explosive devise in a bag and it went off either by itself or it was detonated remotely, he said.

A powerful explosion hit the Istiklal Caddesi, a crowded pedestrian street in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district, at about 16:20 local time. According to official data, six people were killed and 81 more were injured. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that preliminary data indicated that it was a terror attack. According to Vice President Fuat Oktay, the explosive device was detonated by a woman.

Russia’s consulate general in Istanbul told TASS that Russian nationals had not been hurt in the blast. The Russian embassy offered its condolences.
