TASS, November 13. The East Asia Summit (EAS) in Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh started without US President Joe Biden, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday.

"The EAC summit in Cambodia (not to be confused with Colombia) kicked off without Biden. We waited for 30 minutes. He didn't show up," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel on Sunday. Russia is represented at the summit by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The East Asia Summit is a platform for dialogue among Asia-Pacific (APAC) leaders on political settlement, development and the promotion of practical cooperation among states. The format was established in 2005, and Russia officially joined it during the fifth East Asia Summit in October 2010 in Hanoi.
