SHARM EL SHEIKH / Egypt/, November 6. /TASS/. Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Ruslan Edelgeriyev, who leads the Russian delegation to the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), which kicked off in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday, will meet with Egyptian Foreign Minister and President of the forum Sameh Shoukry, a source in Edelgeriyev’s office told TASS on Sunday.

"Head of the Russian delegation Ruslan Edelgeriyev will hold talks with COP27 President and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on the sidelines of the conference in Sharm El Sheikh," the source said, adding that the Edelgeriyev plans to have several more bilateral meetings.

The World Climate Summit kicked off in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh on Sunday. Egypt that chairs the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27). Around 45,000 delegates from various nations, representatives of non-governmental entities, experts, and journalists, including leaders of more than 120 world nations, are expected in Sharm El-Sheikh during the conference that will last until November 18.
