DPRK launches three more short-range missiles towards the Sea of Japan — Yonhap
Earlier this morning, North Korea also launched three missiles, one believed to be a "Hwasong-17" ICBM, with two others being short-range ones
SEOUL, November 3. /TASS/. North Korea launched three more short-range missiles towards the Sea of Japan, Yonhap reported Thursday, citing South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.
"It was registered that, between 21:35 and 21:49, the North launched three short-range ballistic missiles from the Hwanghaebuk-to Province […] towards the Sea of Japan," the military said.
Previously, the media reported a launch of one ballistic missile of undefined type.
Earlier this morning, North Korea also launched three missiles, one believed to be a "Hwasong-17" ICBM, with two others being short-range ones.
The situation on the Korean Peninsula escalated Monday, when the US and South Korea started the Vigilant Storm exercise involving about 240 planes. The same day, Pyongyang criticized the event, calling it a "rehearsal of war," and, on Tuesday, warned that Washington and Seoul will "pay a horrible price," should they decide to invade North Korea.
On Wednesday, Pyongyang launched at least 23 missiles, including air defense and short-range ballistic ones. After the morning launches, Washington and Seoul decided to prolong the exercise. Prior to the evening launches, KCNA published a statement by Pak Jong Chon, DPRK’s Workers’ Party Secretary, who called the decision to prolong the exercise "dangerous and erroneous.".
