North Korean missiles do not fly over Japan, land in Sea of Japan, says country’s minister

Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada said one missile was fired from western North Korea

TOKYO, November 3. /TASS/. All three missiles launched by North Korea on Thursday landed in the Sea of Japan, Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada told reporters, adding that none of the missiles flew over the country’s territory.

"As far as the North Korean missile, which activated the warning system as it reportedly flew over Japan, is concerned, after the analysis undertaken it was confirmed that it landed in the Sea of Japan. Other details are being investigated now," he said, adding that the missile was launched from the western part of North Korea.

Speaking about the following launches of another two missiles, the minister noted that they were fired from the country’s eastern part and landed in the Sea of Japan.

No damage from the missiles was reported, according to the government. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has called North Korea’s missile launches intolerable.
