Mayor says 80% of Kiev residents left without water
Earlier, it was reported that an energy facility providing electricity to about 350,000 apartments in Kiev had been damaged
KIEV, October 31. /TASS/. The Ukrainian capital of Kiev is partially left without electricity and 80% of the city’s residents are without water, Mayor Vitaly Klichnko said on TV on Monday.
"The capital is partially without power because infrastructure facilities providing electricity to Kiev were damaged. Most apartments are without electricity and 80% of the city is without water," he noted.
Meanwhile, the Klimenko Time media outlet published photos and videos of people lining up for water at grocery stores.
Klichko said earlier that an energy facility providing electricity to about 350,000 apartments in Kiev had been damaged. Head of the regional military administration Alexey Kuleba, in turn, warned that damage to energy infrastructure would lead to prolonged power outages.
Air raid sirens went off across Ukraine on Monday morning. Emergency power cuts will be implemented in the country due to damage to critical infrastructure facilities, Deputy Chief of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Kirill Timoshenko said.
