Ukrainian president orders formation of 20 military administrations in Kherson Region
Vladimir Zelensky handed down instructions to form military administrations in the Berislav, Kherson, Genichesk, Skadovsk and Kakhovka districts
KIEV, October 27. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on Thursday establishing 20 military administrations in the Kherson Region, which has been controlled by Russia since March. The document was published on the Ukrainian president’s website.
"The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Kherson regional state administration are hereby to implement measures in accordance with Ukraine’s law ‘On the Legal Regime of Martial Law’, related to the establishment of military administrations under Article 1 of the decree," the document reads.
Zelensky handed down instructions to form military administrations in the Berislav, Kherson, Genichesk, Skadovsk and Kakhovka districts. The decree goes into effect on the day of publication.
From September 23 to September 27, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), as well as the Kherson Region and the Zaporozhye Region, held referendums where the majority of voters opted to join Russia. Treaties on the regions’ accession to Russia were signed at the Kremlin on September 30.
