Giorgia Meloni called for "fair peace" that "cannot be obtained by waving rainbow flags in squares"
ROME, October 26. /TASS/. Italy’s new Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said that "peace cannot be reached through a capitulation, but is possible only through support for Ukraine."
"The only thing that is needed to facilitate the negotiations bringing the conflict to an end is a balance. You do not mean to say that peace is achieved when you have surrendered, peace may be achieved through supporting Ukraine by allowing it to defend itself," Meloni said on Wednesday at the Senate of the Republic (the upper house of Italy’s parliament) before a vote of confidence in her government.
