LONDON, October 24. /TASS/. New UK Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak will assume the office of the Prime Minister on October 25 after an audience with King Charles III, the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement Monday.

According to the statement, outgoing Prime Minister Liz Truss will chair a meeting with the Cabinet on the morning of October 25, after which she will deliver a farewell speech. At about 10:15 local time, she will arrive at Buckingham Palace, where Charles III will accept her resignation. Then, the monarch will meet with Sunak and invite him to form His Majesty's government. At about 11:35, the new Prime Minister will address the British people.
