It is stressed that Belarus has always been in favor of a settlement to all problems only peacefully

MINSK, October 17./TASS/. Belarus does not want to be dragged into the developments around Ukraine, which the collective West is actively seeking, Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich said at a meeting with workers of the Minsk Tractor Plant on Monday.

"Regretfully, the collective West is doing everything possible to drag Belarus, this peace-loving nook in the heart of Europe, into the thick of things. They have already pitted the Ukrainians and Russians against each other. And they also want to drag the Belarusians into this crucible. But no, that’s not what we want," BelTA news agency quoted Volfovich as saying.

Belarus has always been in favor of a settlement to all problems only peacefully, through negotiations, at the sites provided by the republic for dialogue, the security chief emphasized. "The West doesn't need that. It pursues the military component. And with all its heart and soul, it is goading Ukraine towards this fratricidal war," Volfovich stressed. That is why, "they are flooding Ukraine with ammunition, missiles, and other heavy weapons in order to see that what is happening there today continues," he maintained.
