The man was originally from the island of Sardinia, and his relatives have already been informed of his death near Donetsk
ROME, October 17 /TASS/. An Italian volunteer who fought in the ranks of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) was killed in action, Italy’s newspaper Il Messaggero reported on Monday.
According to the newspaper, the Italian, 28, left Italy long ago, at first lived in Russia and was a supporter of the Russian-speaking population in the Ukrainian regions. The man was originally from the island of Sardinia, and his relatives have already been informed of his death near Donetsk. Presumably, he died as a result of Ukrainian shelling, in which the city administration building was damaged.
The newspaper Il Messaggero reported only three Italian casualties in military actions in the Donbass. Earlier, an Italian fighter from the DPR People’s Militia was killed. The newspaper also reported the death of Benjamin Giorgio Galli, 27, who was a member of the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine.
