UK losing investment appeal — Russian ambassador

It is reported that the source of funding for new government initiatives remains unclear

MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. The United Kingdom is becoming unattractive to investors in light of the British government's new plan to support the economy, Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin said on Friday on the air with the Rossiya-24 TV Channel.

"Investors also do not believe in it [the economic support plan - TASS]. This is taking effect now. Investments are leaving the UK, and the amounts are huge, the ones indicated," the diplomat said. "The country is ceasing to be attractive because there is no explanation what they [the UK government - TASS] intend to do," Kelin noted.

The source of funding for new government initiatives remains unclear, the Ambassador said. "To print money again - the country already has double-digit inflation, and it is increasing. But, apparently, it's all at the expense of borrowing," he added.
