Baku reports Armenian shelling attacks on Azerbaijani border positions
According to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, the country’s troops "took adequate retaliatory measures"
BAKU, October 4. /TASS/. Azerbaijani positions on the border with Armenia came under heavy fire, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Late on October 3 and in the early hours of October 4, Armenian troops stationed in the direction of the Subatan, Yukhary Shorja and Istisu settlements in the Basarkechar District and the Chinarli and Kolagir settlements in the Tovuzgalin District, used small arms of various caliber to heavily shell Azerbaijani positions in the directions of the Zivel, Zaylik and Istisu settlements in the Kalbajar District and the Aghdam and Garalar settlements in the Tovuz District," the statement reads.
According to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, the country’s troops "took adequate retaliatory measures."
The ministry also said that "Armenia’s military and political leadership is fully responsible for deliberately escalating tensions.".
