Ukrainian forces’ attempt to escape cauldron near Lisichansk being thwarted — LPR official

According to LPR Deputy Minister of the Interior Vitaly Kisilyov, "the enemy seeks to break though towards Soledar and Kramatorks in small groups"

LUGANSK, June 25. /TASS/. Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) seek to break out of encirclement near Lisichansk, but these attempts are being thwarted, LPR Deputy Minister of the Interior Vitaly Kisilyov told TASS Saturday.

"Cleanup of Nazi units and demining of captured positions in Toshkovka, Gorskoye, Mirnaya Dolina, Volchyarovka and Belogorovka is in progress in outskirts of Lisichansk," he said. "We also reinforce and equip our own positions. The ring around Lisichansk is becoming tighter. The enemy seeks to break though towards Soledar and Kramatorks in small groups. All attempts have been futile."

Earlier, Kisilyov said that about 4,500 UAF servicemen will find themselves in a cauldron near Lisichansk. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said previously that Russian forces under command of Colonel General Alexander Lapin blocked Lisichansk from the south.
