KIEV, June 21. /TASS/. Ukraine has received the first batch of Germany’s Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers, Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov said on Facebook (an Internet platform banned in Russia since it is owned by Meta corporation deemed extremist by the Russian authorities) on Tuesday.
According to him, Kiev now has Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers with trained Ukrainian crews. Reznikov added that it was the sixth type of 155 mm artillery systems that had been provided to Ukraine.
Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers, capable of firing up to ten shells in a minute, entered service with the German army in 1998. The howitzer can fire standard projectiles for 30-35 km and rocket shells for a maximum distance of 50-60 km.
