A little time will pass and the international community will see that Russia who rejected the blackmail of the supporters of a unipolar world order is proposing to move in the right direction, President of the Lebanese Orthodox Council Robert Abiad pointed out

BEIRUT, June 20. /TASS/. Those countries that reject the dictate of the US and the EU should follow Russia’s example who shows to the entire world how to counteract the sanctions pressure policy, President of the Lebanese Orthodox Council Robert Abiad told a TASS correspondent on Monday.

"A little time will pass and the international community will see that Russia who rejected the blackmail of the supporters of a unipolar world order is proposing to move in the right direction," the Lebanese politician said. He gave high marks to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s address at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum which, according to him, "encourages developing countries [to pursue] greater independence and the strategy of a rational use of their resources in order to attain self-sufficiency."

"This was a daring policy statement which expressed the idea of international cooperation on a completely new, rational and fair basis," he noted. "Putin proposes to those who wish to bolster their sovereignty to evaluate the situation objectively and realize that the end has come for the US’ economic and financial might," Abiad explained.

According to him, "the geopolitical illusions of the US and NATO won’t be saved by currency printing presses and arms sales in exchange for food and rising prices for energy products in order to preserve the income in petrodollars." In his opinion, the United States "will face a historical production decline which will result in an even more boosted China’s role both in the global economy and finances."

"As for EU countries, in order for them to come out of that dark tunnel where America wedged them, it is necessary to reject the insane game launched against Russia as soon as possible and attempt to build the bridges of trust," Abiad stressed. In his opinion, "it is senseless to continue this soap opera with the introduction of sanctions".
