Ukrainian court bans Opposition Platform - For Life party
Earlier, the same court banned 10 other parties also accused of having ties with Russia
KIEV, June 20. /TASS/. A court in Ukraine’s Lvov reported that it outlawed the Opposition Platform - For Life party on Monday.
"We are informing that the court satisfied the claims of the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice: the activities of the Opposition Platform - For Life political party have been banned," the Eighth Appellate Administrative Court’s statement said published on its Facebook page (outlawed in Russia, owned by Meta considered extremist organization in Russia).
The court also reported that the party’s funds and other assets had been handed over to the state.
The court considered the issue of banning this party on June 16 but postponed the decision to June 20. Earlier, the same Lvov-based court banned 10 other parties also accused of having ties with Russia.
The Opposition Platform - For Life party branded this decision as a politically motivated one and based on "groundless accusations" and "falsehoods".
