Senior Russian diplomat chides Washington over supplies of heavy arms to Kiev
Moscow has repeatedly stressed that convoys with arms supplied to Ukraine will be legitimate targets for Russia’s armed forces, Sergey Ryabkov recalled
MOSCOW, June 15. /TASS/. Moscow has a highly negative attitude towards Washington delivering heavy armaments to Ukraine, including multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), and the US has been repeatedly informed of this stance, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told the Rossiya-1 TV channel on Wednesday.
"A highly negative attitude to the supplies of heavy weapons, moreover, of long-range arms, if we are talking about the MLRS here, has been and remains the integral element of our position. We are informing the Americans of it, and are doing this persistently through demarches, handing notes and warning about consequences," he said.
The senior diplomat noted that Moscow has repeatedly stressed that convoys with arms supplied to Ukraine will be legitimate targets for Russia’s armed forces.
In early June, the US authorities announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine which will include the HIMARS system and munitions. The first batch included four such systems.
