Instigators of Donbass war to be punished along with mercenaries — Crimean official
On Thursday, the Criminal Appeals Chamber of the DPR Supreme Court found British nationals Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin and Moroccan Brahim Saadoun guilty and sentenced them to death
SIMFEROPOL, June 9. /TASS/. Those in Kiev who launched a war against Donbass will be punished along with the foreign mercenaries who have been sentenced to death by a court in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Crimean State Council Chairman Vladimir Konstantinov told TASS on Thursday.
"For eight years, such mercenaries have been terrorizing our compatriots, killing civilians and destroying homes, industrial and infrastructure facilities. Retribution was inevitable. The court has announced a punishment for these three mercenaries. Those who launched a war against Donbass, who handed down illegal orders, who have on their hands the blood of thousands of people killed on the frontline and in shelling attacks, as well as of people tortured and murdered by the SBU [Ukraine's Security Service], will also be punished," Konstantinov pointed out.
He noted that the death sentence was based "on DPR laws and adventurers should be aware of it before going to war in Donbass." "If any of them think that it will be like a safari, they should know what punishment they may face," the official added.
The DPR Prosecutor General's Office earlier announced that the testimony of British nationals Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin and Moroccan Brahim Saadoun had confirmed their involvement in crimes as defined by Article 34.2 of the DPR Criminal Code (crimes committed by a group of people), Article 323 of the DPR Criminal Code (forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power) and Article 430 of the DPR Criminal Code (mercenary activities). On Thursday, the Criminal Appeals Chamber of the DPR Supreme Court found the three guilty and sentenced them to death.
