Kyrgyzstan seeks to deepen allied relations with Russia
According to the Kyrgyz president, Russia and Kyrgyzstan have been actively interacting for 30 years already
YEKATERINBURG, June 9. /TASS/. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov emphasized that the Central Asian nation intends to deepen its allied relations and strategic partnership with Russia, according to his address read at a conference in Yekaterinburg on Thursday.
"I would like to assure that the Kyrgyz Republic is set to further deepen its allied ties and strategic partnership with Russia. In this aspect, the expansion of interaction with Russian regions is one of the effective mechanisms of bolstering bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation," his statement read by Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Nurlan Niyazaliev at a plenary session of the Ninth Russian-Kyrgyz Interregional Conference said.
According to the Kyrgyz president, Russia and Kyrgyzstan have been actively interacting for 30 years already and now Russia is one of Kyrgyzstan’s main trade partners holding first place in terms of the trade volume.
"The Russian-Kyrgyz Interregional Conference is an effective instrument to expand interregional interaction uniting the representatives of government bodies, business and expert circles in order to discuss the most pertinent issues of interaction between our countries and to seek new promising directions of cooperation in various spheres," the address said.
The Ninth Russian-Kyrgyz Interregional Conference is being held in Yekaterinburg from June 8 through 10. It will include talks between Russian and Kyrgyz enterprises and the signing of a number of documents. Earlier, Yekaterinburg hosted two forums: one for the deans of Russian and Kyrgyz universities and another on cooperation between female entrepreneurs.
