The difference lies in the territorial issues of the parties, said the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council
MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/. Sweden and Finland’s accession to NATO is a lesser threat for Russia than the admission of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview to Qatar’s Al Jazeera television.
"Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership - at least in the form that had been announced - presents a lesser threat for Russia than the admission of Ukraine," he said.
"The thing is that we have no territorial disputes with those countries, which cannot be said about Ukraine," the Russian official added.
