Protesters rally near Moldovan parliament to demand government’s resignation

CHISINAU, May 29. /TASS/. Thousands of people rallied near the building of the Moldovan parliament demanding the resignation of the government of Natalia Gavrilita formed by the pro-EU Party of Action and Solidarity, a TASS correspondent reported from the scene.
The protests have been organized by the opposition Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova after the Moldovan authorities arrested its former leader, ex-President Igor Dodon. The protesters rallied with the placards "We Want Rule of Law," "We Want Correct Justice," "Down with the Government!".
Deputy Speaker of the Moldovan parliament, Executive Secretary of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova Vlad Batrincea took part in the protests. Opposition activists carried Moldovan state flags and flags of the Gagauzia autonomous entity. Both residents of Chisinau and other Moldovan cities took part in the rally.
The protests proceeded peacefully and the police did not interfere in the rally.
