Terrorist threat level in Transnistia reduced from red to yellow
The law enforcement agencies continue to operate in a special service regime, reinforced protection of infrastructure sites where terrorist attacks are likely remains
CHISINAU, May 25. /TASS/. Transnistrian President Vadim Krasnoselsky signed a decree lowering the terrorist danger level from red to yellow.
"The critical red level that was in effect from April 26 to May 25, 2022 has been cancelled, it will be replaced by a high yellow level for the next 15 days," a statement posted on Wednesday on the website of the head of the unrecognized republic said. It noted that the law enforcement agencies continue to operate in a special service regime, reinforced protection of infrastructure sites where terrorist attacks are likely remains, so does control of the possible presence of explosive devices. There will also be an increased control of vehicles movement across the border and checkpoints at the entrances to the cities. The flight regime for drones has been tightened, which still needs to be coordinated with the State Security Ministry.
At the end of April, a series of terrorist attacks occurred in Transnistria: the State Security Ministry was shelled with grenade launchers and the antennas of one of the largest radio and television centers in the region in the village of Mayak were blown up. The military airfield near Tiraspol and the arsenal near the village of Kolbasna, where about 20,000 tons of ammunition were stored after the withdrawal of Soviet troops from European countries were under attack. The facility is guarded by the Operational Group of Russian Forces. The Transnistrian president stated that the sabotage was organized from Ukrainian territory and imposed the maximum terrorist threat level.
