MINSK, May 24. /TASS/. The defense ministries of the countries within the Collective Security Treaty Organization share vision of security threats, a senior Belarussian military official said Tuesday.
The ministries "have been working closely together, they share vision of security threats and have no differences," Valery Rovenko, in charge of international cooperation at the Defense Ministry of Belarus, said in a Twitter post following a meeting of the CSTO defense ministers. "We look forward to a close cooperation" with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, he added.
In the current environment of "complete disregard for the norms and principles of international law, the unity and solidarity of like-minded people are especially important", and only joint efforts will help repel the West’s actions and form a "reliable shield" to protect the CSTO member states’ national interests, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said during the CSTO Defense Ministers Council meeting.
