Kissinger believes that settlement in Ukraine must begin within two months
In Henry Kissinger's opinion, the outcome of the current crisis in Ukraine will influence relations among groups of countries in the military and political spheres in the future
NEW YORK, May 23. /TASS/. The process of a settlement in Ukraine must be launched within two months so as to void worse effects on international relations in Europe, the United States’ former Secretary of State (1973-1977) and presidential national security advisor (1969-1975) Henry Kissinger said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"In my view, movement towards negotiations on peace need to begin the next two months or so. The outcome [of the crisis] should be outlined by them before it creates upheaval and tensions that will be even harder to overcome, particularly in the relationships of Russia towards Europe and of Ukraine towards Europe," he told the forum by video link.
He added that "ideally, the dividing line should return to the status quo."
In his opinion, the outcome of the current crisis in Ukraine will influence relations among groups of countries in the military and political spheres in the future.
