RIO DE JANEIRO, May 23. /TASS/. A fake grenade was found in front of the Russian consulate in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, the Globo television channel reported on Monday.

According to the report, the police received a notice about a suspicious thing the night before. Sappers, a tactical police squad and firefighters arrived at the scene, which was sealed off. After three hours of work using special equipment, the law enforcement officers confirmed that was a dummy.

The footage broadcast by Globo showed how a robotic sapper was moving away from the gates of the diplomatic mission with an unidentified item in its mechanical hand.

The Consulate General declined to comment on the situation to TASS.
