Armenia, Azerbaijan leaders, European Council president agree to continue talks in summer

The parties also discussed issues related to preparations for the negotiations on normalizing ties between the two countries

YEREVAN, May 23./TASS/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev agreed at their meeting in Brussels to continue negotiations in this format in July or in August, the press service of the Armenian government reported on Monday.

"A three-party meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Council President Charles Michel and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was held in Brussels. As a result of the discussion, agreements were reached on the further course of work towards the opening of regional communications and the start of the work of the commission for border demarcation and security," the press service said.

The parties "agreed to continue three-party meetings. The next one is scheduled for July or August," it reported.

The parties also discussed issues related to preparations for the negotiations on normalizing ties between the two countries, humanitarian issues, as well as the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
