Russian UN envoy says there’s no confirmation that DPRK readies nuclear test

There are rumors and reports but nothing has been confirmed, Vasily Nebenzya noted

UNITED NATIONS, May 18. /TASS/. Russia is assuming that there is no confirmation yet that the DPRK is preparing a nuclear test, Russia’s envoy to the UN Vasily Nebenzya told reporters on Wednesday.

"There are rumors, reports but nothing has been confirmed. No tests have been made," he said.

When asked if there were contacts with the US on its proposal for a UNSC resolution, which calls for placing restrictions on the DPRK, the diplomat said that the issue had been discussed.
