Post-Soviet security bloc to combat biological threats - Belarusian defense minister

We are to establish corresponding units of radiation, chemical and biological protection by the end of this year," Belarusian defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said

MINSK, May 15. /TASS/. Countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a post-Soviet Russia-led security bloc, see the necessity of developing cooperation in the sphere of combating biological threats, Belarusian defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said in an interview with Sunday’s issue of the Belorusskaya Voyennaya Gazeta (Belarusian Military Newspaper).

"Another area of the development of our organization is combating biological threats. By the way, we are to establish corresponding units of radiation, chemical and biological protection by the end of this year," he said.

He recalled that several biolaboratories had been found during the special military operation in Ukraine. "Naturally, we knew about their existence but now we have convincing evidence," he stressed.
