North Korea test-fires three short-range ballistic missiles, says South Korean military

Today’s launch is Pyongyang’s 16th missile test since the beginning of the year

SEOUL, May 12. /TASS/. North Korea test-fired three short-range ballistic missiles, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported on Thursday, citing the country’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.

As the South Korean military reported, it detected the launches from the Sunan area of Pyongyang at about 6:29 p.m. local time (12:29 p.m. Moscow time) towards the Sea of Japan.

Pyongyang appeared to have fired multiple rocket launchers.

The South Korean military keeps analyzing the launch in close cooperation with the United States and is maintaining a full readiness posture, the paper said.

Today’s launch is Pyongyang’s 16th missile test since the beginning of the year. On May 7, North Korea apparently test-fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile.
