Ukrainian army attacks Donetsk using Uragan rocket systems
The DPR’s territorial defense headquarters said two people were injured in the attack
DONETSK, May 10. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops attacked the Kirovsky district of the city of Donetsk using Uragan multiple launch rocket systems on Tuesday, the Donetsk People’s Republic’s office at the Joint Ceasefire Control and Coordination Center (JCCC) reported.
"According to data confirmed by military experts from the DPR’s office at the JCCC , who were present at the site of the attack in the city’s Kirovsky district, the enemy used BM-27 Uragan rocket systems," the office said in a statement. Preliminary data indicate that there were injuries, the office added. Blocks of flats and vending kiosks in Petrovskogo Street were reported ablaze.

Tensions escalated along the line of contact in the Donbass republics on February 17. The Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics reported the heaviest shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in months. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. On February 24, Putin launched a special military operation in response to a request for help from the heads of the Donbass republics. The two republics commenced an operation to liberate their territories that had been under Kiev’s control.
