Neutrality declared by Moldova is fiction - Foreign Minister of Transnistria
According to him, "against the background of dynamically developing global and regional processes, including the Moldovan-Romanian strategic integration, the most realistic option for ending the conflict is a civilized ‘divorce’ of Moldova and Transnistria
CHISINAU, May 1. /TASS/. The military-political neutrality declared by Moldova is a fiction, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the unrecognized Transnistria Vitaly Ignatiev told TASS.
"The territory of the Republic of Moldova is controlled by NATO. The declared military-political neutrality of Moldova is a fiction - there are already three permanent NATO centers in the Republic of Moldova, since 2006 an individual action plan for the Moldova-NATO partnership has been implemented, updated for 2022-2023. According to the development plan of the national army of Moldova for 2020-2030, an active transition to the second stage of complete modernization under the NATO standards is in progress," Ignatiev said.
According to him, "against the background of dynamically developing global and regional processes, including the Moldovan-Romanian strategic integration, the most realistic option for ending the [Transnistrian] conflict is a civilized ‘divorce’ of Moldova and Transnistria." At the same time, Ignatiev noted, "it is extremely important that any projects are implemented exclusively by peaceful means and based on a mandate issued by the people".
